Return Policy

 

We hope you love your Smoking Lily pieces! As a small studio producing limited runs, we’ve created a returns process that’s thoughtful, transparent, and sustainable.

 


 

What Can Be Returned

We accept returns of items that:

  • are unworn, unwashed,  undamaged and unscented 

  • have original tags attached

  • are accompanied by an original receipt or linked to your customer profile

We do not accept returns on:

  • Earrings

  • Undergarments (including Underlovelies, Overlovelies and other intimates)

  • Socks

  • Items marked Final Sale

  • Any orders shipped outside of Canada (including the U.S.)

 


 

Return for Canadian Online & In-store Orders

Online

To request a return for an Online order, please submit a return request through our Shopify returns portal. Online returns must be requested and post-marked within 10 days of the delivery date for a store credit. Returns must meet our return requirements.

If you select the “Pick-up in-store” option, the “delivery date” is the date you receive the email confirming your order is ready for pickup. If you return an Online purchase to our Government Street Store it is only eligible for a refund in the form of  store credit.

In-Store

Purchases from our Government Street Store must be returned in-store within 10 days of the purchase date for exchange or store credit. Returns must meet our return requirements and be accompanied with an original receipt, or the item must be listed in your customer profile.

If you are no longer in Victoria, please reach out to our Wharf Street Studio team at info@smokinglily.com to request a return, in which case the return shipping rates and Online return timelines will apply.

Our team members are not able to make exceptions to our return policy.  Late returns will not be accepted.

 


 

Return Shipping (Canada Only)

Return shipping and handling is $15 CAD and will be deducted from your store credit. Once approved, you’ll receive a prepaid Canada Post shipping label via email.

If you choose to return your item to the Wharf Street Studio using another carrier:

  • The $15 return shipping fee will not be deducted

  • You must still submit a return request so we know to expect your package

We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we can’t be responsible for lost return packages.

 


 

Exchanges  and Store Credits 

Exchanges

Because we produce small runs and hold limited stock, we are not able to offer direct exchanges or reserve items  for online returns.  Unfortunately things do sell out and we are not always able to restock them.  

Once your return is received and approved, you may choose one of the following options:

Store Credit

Refunds for purchases from our Government Street Store or Online store are in the form of credits linked to your customer profile.  Store credits can be used in-store and online and never expire. 

Damaged or Incorrect Items

Every once in a while our team makes a mistake.  If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email or Wharf Street Studio team  within 48 hours of the delivery date at info@smokinglily.com. We will cover return shipping and issue a full refund, or send a replacement if available.

 


 

Additional Notes

  • International and U.S. orders are Final Sale

  • Store credits cannot be applied retroactively to completed orders

  • Original shipping charges for On-line shipped items are non-refundable. 

  • We do not offer rain checks or price adjustments

 


 

Hours & Contact

Our Wharf Street Studio is open Monday–Friday, 9–4-ish (Pacific Time). It is generally not open to the public but we will be announcing opportunities to shop and/or attend events at our Wharf Street Studio!
